Rel Collects

So. I've never really considered myself a collector. Until I wake up one day, decide to collect a particular thing, then realise I've always collected something... whether it's the occasional Iron Maiden b-side, band t-shirts, or Funko figurines (yes, primarily Iron Maiden ones).

I've been facing a lot of stress with work, whilst also having some stress while living on the other side of the world from my family. When this happens, however wonderful my home life is, I need to find something that connects internally with *waves hands in the air* something.

Before that's been gaming – especially World of Warcraft – but I'm kind of beyond that now. It no longer does it. So I needed something else. Something I can focus on for even brief moments, and think about – then I began seeing Pokemon videos in my Youtube feed. Specifically around the cards. People racing to collect them, building out binders full of these awesome looking cards. That's it, I thought.

Meanwhile I'd also been slowly building a Funko Pop collection. I had a bunch of Iron Maiden ones, but had begun occasionally getting ones associated with 80s fandoms. I'm an 80s kid after all.

And here I am.

I'll be sharing my collection here in due course - it's not very big, but it's somewhat curated.
